Transfers is almost here and that means I'm almost officially done with training and I can call myself an actual missionary now! But speaking of transfers! My comp is leaving me and I'm getting a new companion!! His name is Elder Naylor and this will be his last transfer so he will die as a missionary in this area...Hopefully he's not too trunky lolol.
Tuesday we had a lesson with a guy we just met, first we had to help him move some stuff into his house then we sat down to talk. They have like three dogs and they were all barking at us but he decided to let them loose and run at us. We quickly found out they were not happy at us because they were trying to jump up on us and murder us. One of them actually caught hold of my hand and shredded its teeth on the side of my hand, I straight up had to shake the dog off cause it just latched on so bad. So I started bleeding but the guy we were teaching didn't see it so my dumb thought was to just hide it so he didn't feel bad and we could just share our message and go. My comp ended up talking pretty much the whole time which was nice cause my hand was in so much pain and I was trying not to get blood on my Book Of Mormon or have him see my hand. It was quite a weird situation. Then later that day we went out knocking and we ended up finding a person which means we taught them a principle and set a return appointment. That was very nice, then we talked to this other guy who started asking us deep questions about why we do this, we talked a lot about why we are here and where we are going and the spirit was crazy strong, unfortunately he wasn't interested but it was still a great convo so maybe one day some other elders will knock on his door and he will remember us.
Wednesday we had lunch with an old lady we are friends with and we went to a seafood restaurant, first off, seafood is expensive so we didn't want to get something crazy, but when we told her what we were gonna get she said NO! Y'all aren't gonna get the cheapest thing, get some steaks!! So we ended up ordering steaks. Second off...Never order a steak from a seafood restaurant!! I asked for medium, and got bloody rare! It was gross. But we ended up taking it home and finishing the job ourselves haha. That was pretty much the only thing that was cool from the day, we just had a lot of unsuccessful knocking and a lot of calls but the lord loves effort so we are happy for our diligence
Thursday we buried the cat....the sisters in the ward next to us told us that some members dog killed her own cat and that she needed help burying it. So we agreed and when I tell you this day was out of a movie, I mean it. It was raining, we were wet, cold, we had to carry it across her yard and bury it in the back, we dug the hole and took a picture, we put the cat in the hole, the member said a prayer, she was crying, we were all just like what is going on. Then one of the sisters pulls out her phone and plays God be with you till we meet again. Then we all took a handful of dirt and threw it in, like the movies, then we buried the cat, had a moment of silence and went home. It was so weird and I had no clue what I was doing with my life in that moment. Later that day we got to go to dinner with an RM and has five guys which slapped, so that was fun. After that we had a lesson with our progressing guy, and the whole point of this lesson was to get him to pray. So we read Enos, talked about prayer, gave him a step by step card on how to pray, and then we each went around and said a prayer. Come to him, he was like trying so hard to remember what to do and how to do it, then he just closed his eyes, bowed his head and said "prayer, I love my family, I love my friends, Jesus is really good, amen." Now you may think, that wasn't the best prayer, but no!!! It was amazing, it was the first time he prayed and it just was so perfect for him, the spirit was so strong and we were so happy. Hopefully we can keep him doing that consistently.
Friday and Saturday were kinda lay back, we had a zone conference with just our zone, it was super fun we had a guy from our mission come and give us a council on being more diligent lol, he just used numbers and said that we should baptize more. Little did he know that we are trying!!!!! But nah it was super fun and it was great to see the zone. Christmas eve we went to Texas roadhouse for the third time in my mission and had some delicious steaks. Then we had some awesome lessons with some people and then spent the rest of the night relaxing cause it was Christmas eve.
Sunday aka CHRISTMAS!!! Was amazing!!! We woke up, we opened some presents then went to church, we had four people come to church which was so awesome, then we went home talked to our families (hi mom and dad and sisters) then we went out fishing with our district, caught absolutely nothing, we just froze our butts off. Then we went out to a members house and had dinner and played games, then we came home super overwhelmed because we both got a load of just candy, food, missionary stuff and a lot more candy. But overall it was a fantastic Christmas and I'm so happy and grateful for all the stuff I got and the things we were able to do.
Today we had a zone P-day! So we went out with our zone and ate some delicious BBQ, then played volleyball at the church basically the entire time. It was so fun and i had such a blast, our zone is the best and I sure am gonna miss all the people that are leaving.
So that wraps it up for me. I wrote a song, buried a cat, found out I'm getting a new comp, had a bomb Christmas, have loads of candy and snacks, and I'm no longer a trainee!! Hope y'all had a fantastic Christmas!!!!! Christ truly is the greatest thing in my life, he is my savior and my redeemer and my light! I hope that I can do better at emulating his love towards everyone around me and I pray that y'all can too cause becoming more christlike just opens up our eyes to the love our savior has for us!! Anyways enjoy y'alls week!!! Talk to y'all in the next one!!!
